Scars are white with age. Scars are pink with youth. Ropy tissue crisscrossed upon both wrists.
Mother asks questions.
You ignore. Father angrily demands reasons.
You blankly stare. You no longer care.
They can no longer help.
Dead you are to the world around you.
Friends ask causally about the scars.
You mutter and pull down your sleeves.
Random strangers point and ask.
You shrug it off an
